The critical thing about a sixty-year-old slab is that it has moved. Expansion joints open, plumbing penetrations settle away from the pipe, and the gap between the slab edge and the block course widens. Those are the routes ants and scorpions actually use, and spraying a baseboard above them accomplishes nothing lasting. We inspect for slab movement specifically on these homes, treat and seal at the joint and penetration level, and use bait where the colony is under the slab rather than a contact spray that just splits it.
Termite work here needs the same honesty. Original construction in Sun City often has stem wall detailing and utility entries that make subterranean termite access easier than in a modern post-tension slab, and a lot of these homes have had prior treatments of varying quality.
